Listen to Your Body

I attended WordCamp Philippines 2026 on August 28 and 29, where I participated in Contributor Day for the first time, testing WordPress themes for accessibility issues while also managing and supporting my UX community’s booth. We engaged with many students, answering questions while also letting them play our activities. In turn, we gave them stickers and pins as a reminder that our UX community exists. It was a fruitful outcome, and it left us tired - very tired.

After I left, I felt a pain in my throat every time I swallowed or even talked. When I got home, I said little to my mother and tried to eat soon after. Taking lozenges relieved my throat temporarily. But it was a good night's sleep my body signaled I needed. I did… for 10 hours, the longest I’ve had thus far.

Your whole body acts as an alert system. If you feel hungry, then eat. If you feel tired, then rest. Ignore those signs, and you’ll end up feeling worse in the future. So listen to your body. Because it can save your life.
