Procrastination is my bane. If I procrastinate, I feel guilty. I feel like I could have used my time better. How do I procrastinate? Binge-watch YouTube all night, or watch some T.V. series I’ve been following for the past week. The result? I woke up the next morning late and tired, very tired.
Why am I doing it anyway? I guess it’s because of my perception of time. That I don’t have “enough” of it every weekend. I have to balance my job, volunteer work, and recreational activities with my self, friends, and family. That last part requires even more attention, as they might slip away if you’re not consistent.
Strangely, I’ve observed people procrastinate in public as well. Mostly scrolling on social media. Some even do it in front of their children or when waiting for a transaction to finish. It’s like they’re not paying much attention to be present. I always wonder whether they have the time to reflect on it. Nor feel the same guilt about wasting time.
People feel guilty of many things. This is mine. It’s a difficult battle, and I don’t want to give in.
