From January to April 2026, I spent my internship implementing websites, ERP systems, and collaborating with employees and interns alike—experiences that made me reflect on how I approach work and interpersonal communication.
Do your best to get the ending right. And in a good way. My last day at Kapwa culminated with three comprehensive website audits for a German client. All done under three hours. I also gave my sincere appreciation to Kapwa's managers and supervisors on my last daily huddle. I then left my last Slack message at the end of the day, thanking everyone and bidding them goodbye for the wonderful internship experience.
Why didn't I stay, you ask? At 22 years old, I've decided to go broad, learn almost anything that can satisfy my curiosity and help propel my career prospects. I may not get the opportunity once I specialize in my later years and focus on building expertise. My goal is to explore different work contexts, how companies manage their own employees, and what strategies and workflows bring the best and worst to the business.
As graduation approaches, I feel excited to control my own destiny and pursue what I want to add, improve, and maintain in my life. I also feel uncertain, however, about the state of the world with crises cropping up elsewhere and fuel prices still up. I keep myself updated with the news often, but I don't let it spiral down into doom and gloom. With all of its negatives, there are also positives that we want to think of more often. No matter how messy the world gets, you can find beauty and tranquility in the smallest of things.
